“If you’re the POH and want to give your bestie the best wedding, take notes!”

It’s a fantastic feeling to be told you are the POH! There are quite a few responsibilities that you would need to do to help the happy couple. The couple may have already provided you with a few things that they want you to complete but may have not mentioned these! Here are 5 POH tasks that you need to prioritize before and during your best friend’s wedding day!

Be There For Your Bestie!

Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and stressful for your bestie, especially on the morning of the wedding. The most important duty you need to do for the nearly-wed is to be the supportive best friend you’ve always been, giving reassurance and a listening ear.

Another great thing is offering help with any small simple tasks that just need to be completed so they can focus on the priorities. The couple would be extremely appreciative of the help you offer them. Especially if they’re planning a wedding during a global pandemic. They might be going through some rearrangements and cancellations, so give them a helping hand as much as possible.

Make Sure Your Friend Eats

Give your bestie that little reminder to have something to eat, even if it’s little buffet snacks during the day. Your friend will spend their whole day chatting and dancing with their family members they haven’t seen in a while and sometimes time can fly by so fast that they can forget to eat and your friend needs to eat! Even if you provide them with some small snacks on a plate, they will appreciate that rather than ending the night hangry (hungry and angry).

Try to Take Some Personal Snaps/Videos

This is a great opportunity for you and the attendants to pitch in with some behind-the-scenes snaps of the marrier, family and friends all together, whether it close up of celebration toasts, dancing to the music or even just tears of happiness, these snaps can be very special to the newlywed and would be a great keepsake for them. If you want to take short but fun videos during the night, you could download the app Snapchat where it shoots 10-second videos with cool effects and filters if you want to have some funny videos to save.

Prepare The Honeymoon Suite

The ceremony has finished and the celebrations have officially started at the reception — drinks are flowing and conversations are going about the plans. It can be a very busy time for the married couple, so take a few minutes out of your time to speak to the hotel/venue management about making some additional extras that could be placed in the honeymoon suite that would make it as romantic and magical as possible for their first night as newlyweds. Sometimes it is just the simple things that give the couple the love they are surrounded with.

Creating An Emergency Kit.

These are brilliant to give to the marrier the morning of their wedding day. Creating an emergency kit that includes all products that your bestie may forget and may desperately need to reduce your friend’s stress levels. We have plenty of ideas that you could include in your emergency kit on Pinterest.

We hope these duty tips are very helpful for you. What’s the first duty you would do for your bestie? Also what experiences have you found helpful for the couple while being a POH? We would love to know! Let us know in the comments below. Don’t forget to check our social media!
