National Girlfriend’s Day is August 1st, and we’re so excited. We love working with girlfriends here at Uplanit. Their support as bridesmaids toward your wedding is often invaluable. It helps to make your wedding planning easier and as event experts, we understand how important that is.

We also love it when it’s time to toast on the wedding morning, and everyone is dressed in matching robes. So, for this National Girlfriend’s Day, we’ve decided to talk about bonding as a team. You see, while it is possible for your bridesmaids to all know each other, more often than not, it isn’t so.

In cases like this, the responsibility is on you as the bride to get them united. Having a team that is united and ready to take on your wedding planning with you can be such an advantage. Here are some ideas that you can use to bring these special women together and close for your wedding.

Create a Group

Most brides choose Facebook for this. However, you could also use WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Google Hangouts, and other apps. Just make sure all of your bridesmaids are active in the group that you choose.

Setting up a group will help you avoid awkward introductions, and all your girlfriends can chat online. A group will also help you navigate working around busy schedules as those not available could always drop in later and see what was said. If you have some bridesmaids coming from out of town, a virtual group like this is another way to keep them in the loop easily.

Plan a Girls’ Day Out

Picture a pampering session at a spa and then a lovely brunch or dinner after. Your girlfriends will certainly bond over the relaxation and have a good time. So, go ahead and set up manicures and pedicures for all of your bridesmaids.

You can also head over to the spa with everyone to get some relaxing massages or facials. An activity like this has the added advantage of making sure everyone looks fabulous for your wedding. None of your girlfriends will be able to resist coming out for this.

Attend a Bridal Show

We always advise that brides and their girlfriends do this one early in the planning if necessary. Attending wedding-related events like these will help to unite you and your ladies on the importance of your celebration. It will also play a great part in breaking the ice.

Bridal shows also carry some great wedding dresses you wouldn’t see in a regular bridal shop. So, if you’re looking for something unique for your day, make plans to attend one. Most of these shows last about three days, and when you buy a dress on the spot, you could get a massive discount for it.

Attend A Floral Class

This is another activity that you can plan for your girl’s day out. It’s a productive way to spend your time and a lovely opportunity for your ladies to bond. You’ll also pick up very useful skills that you’ll have for life.

For example, most floral classes will teach how to do a bouquet or a floral centrepiece. These are real skills that you and your ladies can use for your upcoming wedding. You could also learn how to do things like boutonniere and corsages.

Do A Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Who says you have to wait for your wedding to get beautiful portraits? Some brides choose to have a bridal session with their bridesmaids before the wedding, and it comes out beautifully. This is a lovely time to plan a trial session with your makeup and hair stylist too.

This session also doesn’t have to be with your full bridal wear if you’d prefer otherwise. You can just hire a photographer to take some great portraits of you and your ladies having fun. You could also use the pictures from this in many ways for your bridesmaid thank you gift.

Attend A Dance Class

Enrol bridesmaids who are willing and yourself in a private dance lesson as a way to bond. This lighthearted activity will surely energise and bring out smiles and laughter with your ladies. It’s a lovely way to destress after all the hard work of wedding planning.

You could also use the opportunity to learn some moves that you could do at your wedding. We’ve seen brides and bridesmaids put on a fabulous show at their wedding reception. It can be a unique part of your wedding entertainment.

Have A Bachelorette

If you’ve been on the fence with this one, it’s time to say yes. Bachelorette weekends are perfect for bonding between bridesmaids and the bride. You’ll get into all sorts of shenanigans you wouldn’t at something so formal like your bridal shower. A bachelorette won’t have parents attending.

Picture a weekend in close quarters with your ladies where you get to have lots of fun. After you do this, you’ll have so many inside jokes to share, and everyone will have grown closer. You’ll love that you decided to have one.

In Conclusion

Female friendships are very special, especially when planning your wedding. So, once you have your list of bridesmaids set, do your best to bring everyone together. You’ll have a better time that way, and the bonds you build could last way beyond your wedding day.

Can you think of more ways to bring your girlfriends together for your wedding? We’d love to hear your ideas so please feel free to share them below.
