“You could put hours into glamorizing yourself to look 10/10, but still fear it won’t last the whole night”

Hen parties can be pretty wild. You’ll be spending the day and/or night with your friends, having the best time of your life with plenty of champagne, cocktails, or even mocktails if you’re not up for alcohol. Whether the bride wants to have alcohol or not, there are loads of options that planners can include, and you can find plenty of fun-loving activities to do at the bride’s hen party. We’ve provided a few great ideas to add to your night!

Ice Breaker Game

If you’re considering bringing a large group of people to your hen party, it’s probably best to create an ice-breaker game. Your guests may not know each other as well as you do, so as the maid of honour or bridesmaids organising this hen party, you want to be the best host you can be and make sure everyone in the group is included. Here are a few questions and games that you could involve:

Questions:

  1. How do you know the bride-to-be?
  2. What’s your favourite TV series?
  3. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
  4. The weirdest habit you have?
  5. What’s the funniest moment you’ve experienced?

Games:

  1. Bridal Bingo
  2. Prosecco Pong Party Game
  3. Bride Quiz Game
  4. Handbag Scavenger Hunt
  5. Flamingo Themed Donut Catcher

Disposable Cameras

Are you bored of taking endless amounts of photographs on your phone? Maybe consider something new. According to Los Angeles Times, many Gen Z’s and young millennials are joining the trend of bringing disposable cameras to any events as they create a great sense of nostalgia and vintage look about them — a reminder of your childhood; holding a picture in your hand which is full of great memories. Why not customise a photo album specifically for the hen night? That way it’s something you all can look back at and share.

Another reason for using disposable cameras is that they can be a good replacement instead of using mobile phones. If you continuously take photographs and/or videos on your mobile phone can be particularly draining battery life, so it’s important to have your phone on at all times during a hen party in case of an emergency. So instead of drastically reducing your battery life by taking photographs, ensure everyone puts their phones safely away.

Shot Glasses and Mini Bottles

Shots and spirits are a common essential for some pre-hen nights out, and these can even be involved in the ice-breaker games suggested earlier! Why not customise each shot glasses for your hens and place the bride’s favourite spirits inside? It’ll create a night for them to remember! Don’t forget to have fun while drinking but remember to be responsible, keep close to your friends and respect those who don’t want to drink alcohol.

Night Out Survival Kit

Makeup and fashion disasters are likely to happen on a night out. You could put hours into glamorizing yourself, but fear it will sweat off during the night? Here are some other useful mini essentials to help:

  • Mini antiperspirant and body spray
  • Pack of breath mints
  • Blotting paper (removes oil of the skin without removing makeup)
  • Eyelash glue and Nail glue
  • Mini Hairbrush
  • Sewing kit
  • Plasters (for your feet after dancing all night!)

A lot of these choices are great to have in your survival kit, but please ensure that you have the essential ones before adding any extra products — keep safe!

Morning-After Cures

The morning after a wild hen party can be pretty rough. You might wake up with a sore head, dehydrated and with swollen feet after dancing the night away. You and your girls need a morning-after pamper session to rejuvenate yourselves! Prepare the most important parts first, like large bottles of water to hydrate and paracetamol for pain relief, and then consider including things like face masks and makeup remover to refresh that skin, as well as vitamin C boost sachets and mouthwash.
