Winter weddings come with their own requirements when it comes to bridal dresses. For example, you can’t use the same fabrics, length and accessories for both a summer and winter wedding. Winter weddings happen in some of the coldest months of the year.

So, what makes a wedding dress appropriate for winter? It’s a mix between being practical while still looking fabulous. Here are some requirements that we’ve found that are great:

Go for good coverage. This could mean long sleeves and a back that is covered. You might also need to work with a full skirt design. So, brides make use of mesh and lace to cover while remaining sensual and beautiful.

Work with lace, satin or silk. These fabrics will give you warmth and coverage while looking elegant. Lace can even provide the much need peep of skin to take your dress to new sexy heights.

Your accessories should match your gown and the weather. So, we’re talking gloves, shawls and more. The advantage is that these will glamorize a simple wedding dress and take it to the next level. You could also use embellishments like pearls.

Winter colours. Your lovely white wedding dress will already fit right in with this theme. Other great colours include cool silvers, bluish whites and ivory.

With that said, here are three winter wedding dress styles that you can’t go wrong in.

You’ll fall in love with this winter wedding dress. The full-length sleeves and high neck make it perfect. It also looks fantastic! If you’re looking for a modest dress with full coverage, this is the dress to go for. It has a relaxed silhouette and isn’t too fitted. You can even wear insulated underwear in these, and no one will know.

For this dress, you’ll need hazy makeup and an up-do for the perfect romantic look. It’ll fit perfectly, and you can look angelic as you walk down the aisle. You’ll look fabulous as you twirl during your first dance, too. So, pick a song that encourages that.

This one is for romantic brides who don’t mind a bit of glam alongside. You would rock in this dress. It also offers modest coverage but is sophisticated and has flirty vibes too. It’s just the perfect mix.

This gown can have a high neckline, longer sleeves and a modest back if you want. But you can also show some skin and get away with it. You’ll especially love the option that comes with lace-up ribbons.

What we love most about this dress, however, is the full princess style skirt. You’ll turn heads walking down the aisle in this. It’s also efficient and will keep you warm while concealing your thick winter underwear.
